Local and Territorial Courts Apart from the two important courts , a large number of popular courts also functioned , and the Arthasastra speaks of many cases which fell under the jurisdiction of the unofficial courts . स्थानीय एवं प्रादेशिक न्यायालय उपर्युक्त दो महत्वपूर्ण न्यायालयो के अतिरिक्त अशासकीय न्यायालय भी बहुत बड़ी संख्या में कार्यरत थे- कौटिल्य अर्थशास्त्र में ऐसे अनेक मामलों का उल्लेख है जो अशासकीय न्यायालयों की अधिकारिता में आते थे .
